History

SAMAERO Company Pte Ltd (currently known as Eurocopter South East Asia Pte Ltd) was created in 1977 by "SAMCO" Singapore Aerospace Maintenance Company Pte Ltd (currently known as ST Aerospace Engineering Pte Ltd) and AEROSPATIALE Helicopter Division (currently known as Eurocopter) with shareholding of 51% and 49% respectively.

In 1978, SAMAERO began its operations in Seletar and in 1988 we moved to the current building at Loyang Way.

In 1983, OFEMA (currently known as SOFEMA) becomes a shareholder of SAMAERO. The structure of shareholders was then comprised of AEROSPATIALE 65%; SAMCO 25%; and OFEMA 10%.

SAMAERO, SAMCO and Composite Technic Inc. of USA, together established Composite Technology International Pte Ltd (CTIS)… a company that specialises in the repair and overhaul of helicopter's rotor blades.

EUROCOPTER, the subsidiary of AEROSPATIALE, became the official shareholder of SAMAERO in 1992.

Singapore Aerospace Maintenance Company Pte Ltd (SAMCO) has changed its name to Singapore Aerospace Engineering Pte Ltd on 16 November 1989.

On 31 March 1995, Singapore Aerospace Engineering Pte Ltd changed its name to ST Aerospace Engineering Pte Ltd.

AEROSPATIALE became AEROSPATIALE-MATRA and was listed on the Paris Bourse in 1999.

Year 2000, SAMAERO has changed its name to EUROCOPTER SOUTH EAST ASIA PTE LTD (ESEA).

Following the merger of AEROSPATIALE-MATRA, DASA and CASA, ESEA is now part of the EADS group.

Year 2002, SOFEMA has withdrawn as a shareholder and the new structure of shareholders is now comprise of EUROCOPTER 75% and ST Aerospace Engineering 25%.
